Tesco Petition -

A while ago I got a little enraged with my glorious (ahem) place of employment. I can't understand 'Lad's Mags'. Granted before I wasn't so against them but I now don't agree with them and feel I need to take action where I can to support these views.

Hence I wrote this:

"As you may of heard, I am looking to apply for covering sections for a few of the magazine titles Tesco currently stocks. As Tesco employees we are contracted to work alongside these publications with a reccurance much more frequented than that of a normal shopper. Without regaling or preaching my personal opinion of select titles, I feel that a few of you may also wish for a simple measure to be taken.

A handful of other supermarkets have already employed such measures and I plan to echo this with a set of plastic or card covers with official Tesco signifiers to stop them being moved or mistaken as uneeded. These can then be imposed upon such titles which staff or the public deem as ‘offensive’. The plaquards will not cover up the publication entirely (the title will be left clearly distinguishable so that customers can still locate the product/s they wish to buy/browse) and will not be fixed to the publication so that reading the front and/or removing the magazine to buy or browse is no extra physical hassle.

I would like to ask you to sign this petition with your opinion. I understand not everybody has the same opinions so have included sections ‘for’, ‘against’ and ‘no opinion’ so as not to exclude anybody in voicing their views. Please be honest and count your opinion unintimidated, as it is your personal right and I am asking you to express that regardless of which box it falls under.

Thank you for your time and views.

Lewis Bullock"

I set it in Anivers for body and a Myriad Pro header. I would like to give a link to a pdf somehow but I don't know how to. Oh dear. Awful horrid screenshot to make do coming up. Not about the design, more so about the body.

Hiya Lewis! (Sorry, uh, Derrick...)
This is Jenny from Vis Com. We haven't really spoken much (at all, if I'm honest), but awesome blog you have here.

Reading this latest post almost revives a faint hope in my for the mental state of mankind.

Inexplicably to some, it upsets me when I'm scanning rows of magazines in some tescos for Edge or ImagineFX and my eyes are invaded by barely censored nipples just because my stupid genres of choice just so happen to be next to "lads mags".

I'm not sure why, I just felt the need to say thank you. I'd sign your petition, but unfortunately don't have the pleasure of working for tescos. Haha. :P
