Bit messy tonight Dezzzzaaaaar but oh well. I'm sure your HTML bones can handle it.
PPRD was a bit scrappy monday morning. Can't remember too much about it because I was listening out for Sally to ring my neck about not handing in a CV in the previous session. Not even mentioned though. I suppose it's based on a need to produce basis and at the minute I'm not applying for any jobs so I'm okay to slack off. Or am I? No doubt it's going to jump round and bite me in the arse one day when a killer position comes up.
After that we had an I.T. tutorial with Darren on illustrator. I've never really used it before and it's very stylized but for the style it's excellent so i really need to get to grips with it. I think I might go in on Fridays and dedicate a day to messing about with the programs we're learning. Yeah. That sounds a pretty decent idea actually because then any extra problems I have or anything I can try and sort out then too. I'm planning a time table too to organise my time out of uni because there is a lot of free time, like Mondays for instance, where I could stay at uni and do something productive.
I asked around for illustrators/photographers/writers on myspace too for the magazine i want to make as a self-interest brief and got one person off myspace reply. Gutted. Asked Emy, who's now in a big design team after doing work for topshop and she said she'd love to. Scarlett will be a yes. And Anita. Thats a start at least. I'm quite excited about getting it done but i need to finalise some kinda direction for it rather than just 'ebb and tide design'. Haha. Tasty name though. I asked Emy about work placements too so hopefully she'll find some information out even though it'd be quite a distance to travel for work. Bleh.
Here's my pretty much first ever illustrator file after the live trace and hand pen-tooling lesson.
[sorry. email bodged up. i'll edit and upload later lovey.]
I'm off to watch helvetica the movie but I'll be back later to talk about the wicked day today.
Love ya Derrick.
