Eeeee Derrick mate, today's so pretty again.
Woke up after getting my drifting final done at 5am to a really nice sun. Of course I barely noticed it cause my eyes snapped back shut straight away. Felt grimey and dirty but had to go in to be on time for the crit. Ten minutes late but if I'd of had a shower to feel better i'd of been loads more. House point for me.

The crit went well as far as not feeling like i'd under-worked or not produced enough. I was pretty pissed off though that a lot of people had straight fine art photography shots, which all my beachfront shots started out as, yet i'd collaged mine cause of what Dan said. Not his fault in the slightest really because i should have gone to the briefing session or at least talked through with Neil what i was going to do setting wise instead of trapesing round the woods then having Dan say it's not what he was looking for.

I felt my crit was fair even though all of our groups work was pretty similar. The main feedback I remember was that the old people and text in my image was unecessary and clashed somewhat with the style of the rest, which i totally agree with. I think i was cramming too much in and got quite semi-percious about the quality of that photo even though it isnt actually as funny when cut up. I guess that's a lesson. Don't include work that doesn't fit, just because you like it. I also got pointers that the image is actually about three pictures in one. I think this is true but staying to the thought that i thought everybody was presenting a montage i left it so.

The art bzz i got afterwards though was to set it to 'Inertiatic ESP & L'Via LViquez' and have buildings pop up in beat to the drums at the beginnig and the wailing vocals of 'im lost'. eee. Neil said we should get loads of animations training after christams so im really really really looking forward to that. I can't remember his name but the other guy said it's good to refine your pre-animation skills frist though i.e. its okay being good at animation but unless you've got the ideas, the skills wont do you anymore favours. Makes sense.

As for screen block printing the abstract nature got tedious very quickly. It wasn't only me as a fair few people were walking round then whispering to me "What are you doing?". Thank god for little Kit. Hehe. She told me to stay in a nice way, without enforcing anything and i did come up with something different. It wasn't particularly what i like but it was something that i totally didnt think i would produce with where my head was at. I remember this girl making a cloud with number three stamps for the edges and it looked so so so good. I think i got my mind set to make something like that. Damn these creative people. I need to calm down on the 'producing something original' thing too because not producing anything isn't always better than producing something similar. Plonker.

Anyhoo derrick I'm going to watch a movie now cause I'm feeling in that mood. Even though I'd rather be at twins house getting drunk. Thanks.

I don't like you tonight Derrick.
