Dezzzzzzaar!

Rainy horrid day today. Went black in the last five minutes of our day and started hurling down cats and dogs. Mess everywhere I tell ya.

Today was the first session primarily with Kit. Grids and layouts. We were told to type up words which we didnt even use and get our work, which we didnt even use. Was a bit miffed but it's done and ready now so no biggie. It was amaaaaazing today though. After all the teaching and learning the terminology we got on with making our own grid and layout. Took up quite a lot time in the day which was surprising. Didn't look like much when i looked but there was a lot of fiddly measuring and lining up involved to make it look sexy. We're talking half of a mm here kids. Apparently i'm almost getting into pt (points) measurements. Ooooo.

I had a talk with Kit through the break though about publishing and how I wanted to get into it and her face lit up. I was honest and said I've always written and used to think editorial but now wanted to combine the both if I can. She nodded with that really affirmative nod at exactly the right bits to make me realise she knew exactly what i was on about and she could see that I'm so eager to get into it. I even asked Sally to give me a tutorial on Quark even though the tutorial is next wednesday. I just caaaan't wait that long. Hehe. Kit also talked about a day at penguin publishing but I was too late as she's picked the people to go the day before. Can't believe it. Le it be a lesson lewis to bloody talk to people as and when instead of leaving it a few days because you WILL miss out on something. Hehe.

Im off to play with guides and gutters now though my old cap wearing digital junky.
