Just a post to make note of two new sites added to my portable bookmark.

http://www.decodeunicode.org

I found this site after installing skype and sending a file again just to see the nice little typographic element (http://www.decodeunicode.org/de/u+2766) that goes above the filename. I decided i should research it and went to wikipedia where it had a mass of pictures and their relevant code. This site however has a much nicer layout and a nice little animation when scrolling over the center dotted line links. Unfortunately the descriptions are predominantly in German but you can't have it all I guess.

http://www.fromoldbooks.org

I found this site also whilst looking for the foral heart descriptions. It has some amazing pictures scanned in from ancient books (all of which are royalty free because the person who uploads them is very nice and hasn't claimed/bought a new lease of copyright on the images) at very large sizes. On some it even has a link to view the notes part in their original context.
